Guys, is there a place to find the latest steel price ?
Seems like couple of steel vendors are trying to rob me.

Apart from Tata nobody provides the rates online [http://www.tatatiscon.co.in/price_list.php]

If you are looking for other TMT bars, do a routine check, zero on your vendor and rely on him. As of last week, following are the prices (may vary from vendor to vendor)

Meenakshi/Bhuwalka - 49.5K/ton
Somani - 48K
Indus - 53.5K
Primegold - 50K
Vizag/Sail - 54K (not ISI certified)

Keerthi - I do have details for couple of dealers (in sarjapur/whitefield area) but their proximity to your place matters. You can check with them the running rates but go with someone who is near your place. Also decide on the make (brand) before, as nobody will deal with all the brands.

Almost all the steel brands (meenakshi, Bhuwalka, Azad, Gopala) are ISI & TMT/TMX (correct me if I am wrong) and they hover around the 50K mark which kind of matches with hindu property article as well.

prices indicated as on 28-April-2012, published on The Hindu property plus.
Pls let me know, if you find dealer with better price.

Thank you palmut and pradeep. I got quote of 50k for primegold and 49.5 for bhuwalka which matches with palmut's numbers.

I got 3.8 Tons vizhak steel yesterday 52K+ (5% VAT - Rs 2500 ) Total - 54.5K. (Transporation extra - 1600K).
Its from Sri Lakshmi steel industries (Bidarahalli hobli, Devanahalli Road).

after slight negotiation got a quote of Rs.45500/- per ton for Prime Gold 500

Is this a good price, kindly confirm
