I just checked with a steel trader on today's price. Indus seems to be way ahead of other brands, but following are still available at a lower price
Chamundi ->53000
Prime Gold ->55000

There is nothing so good about Indus, barring their ad campaigns. Being a 415 grade Iron, it is not a ORE STEEL....it is still a RE ROLLED steel. Infact, when the grading was done at some of the labs, the Fe grade was much less than 400. Prime gold is also a re-rolled steel, though at 500 grade.

I checked the test report of primeGold TMT and they say their steel is from ore(billet) and they have also compared with other brands here http://www.primegoldgroup.com/downloads/report/test-report.pdf

No company claims that their steel is "re rolled". Howeevr, the reality is that they are re-rolled. from the Karnataka industries, only BMM has a completely integrated steel plant, where the steel is ore steel. There are many of steel makes in the north, where the steel is ore steel.

if the price difference is not much one can go for Fe500 from reputed national brand like Tata Tiscon, why go for local/smaller brands like Indus or Prime Gold?
I heard Indus has been facing power shortages in TN plant, hence their price went up.
For my project under construction I went for Tata Tiscon Fe500.
