Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
converting temporary connection to permanent. I am in the middle of construction with temporary connection ,but my electrical contractor insisting to go for applying permanent connetion as it would take 1 month based on seniority so better apply now. But my house will take another 4 months to finish. He is charging 5600 Rs (Bill given from BBMP office) plus some service charge may around 1500 for that as he will need to draw a electrical plan etc to get it done. Please do share experience if anybody has done the same recently.

Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
Hi All,
My electrical contractor is quoting Rs 22,000/= for 3KW and 3 Phase Temp.electrical connection with 56 renewal days.
Breakup is as follows
KEB deposit ==> Rs 9250/=
Digital Meter three phase (New one with Bill) ==> Rs 4250/=
MCB+Wire+board+paper work+bribe ==> Rs 7000/=
ELCB ==> Rs 1500/= (he said its a trip switch to safeguard the Bore motor this is done on top of MCB trip
He said he will reduce this amount to some extend may be Rs 500 to Rs 1000/- i believe.
This amount is reasonable or over priced.

I think it is for 28 days what you are quoting ,not sure how come 22K for 56 days seems to be very cheap as deposit amount will come even to 17K.

It is overpriceddddddddddddddd................. It should be around 17K to 18K(Max) without wires for 28 days depends on quality of MCB/fuse/wooden board etc as you can get those from 1600 to more depends on the quality, as you can ask to put temporarty wire from there end as those wires are of no use for us finally as need to do underground cables which could be waste

Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
I recently got my electrical(Temporary) connection done. Since I do not have a borewell, I went for 1Phase, 1Kva connection, 28 day renewal. This is enough for the steel cutting machine and other general purpose lighting.
Deposit and others (billed) - 3000/- (security deposit, etc)
Service charge+bribe etc for the Electrician - 1500/-
Total I paid 4500 to get the connection (with meter, MCB switch and couple of fuse carrier + wiring etc). I think the meter is of BESCOM, since I did not pay for it. The electrician charged another 1300 for wooden Board, single MCB, fuses, wiring, bulb holder, switch box with couple of switches and a plug point, etc. (for which he gave me the bill)
28 day renewal minimal charge is 697 (less than 700) + 300 service charge to get the JE/AE sign and pay it on time. I am ok with 300/- so that I need not run behind BESCOM officials to pay it on time.

Re: Cost of Temperory Electrical connection for Construction
I have to apply for a temp electrical connection know and the following is the quote given by contractor
Deposit - {2700 * 2 * 2} for 2kv connection and 56 days renewal i.e. 10800/-
Meter - 4125
Wiring - 350/-
Other Charges - 3500/-
Now he says that we need to get borewell registration document to get temp elec connection. Could someone let me know if borewell reg document is needed since the registration was not open when we drilled borewell.
If we really do need it then where do i get the document?

Hello Chandu,
I got the temp electrical connection. If we have a existing borewell then we need to download form from the BWSSB portal, fill it and submit it at BWSSB office (we also need to make payment of Rs 50 at Canara Bank).
This borewell reg document is not mandatory for temp electrical connection but needed for permanent connection.
Thanks,
Sunil

Hi Sunil,
Thanks for info. I'm having bore with 3 Phase (3kw) temperory connection, I'm planning to go with permenant connection first week of march.
Do BWSSB office, will provide any acknowledgement, which we need to attach to permenant connection application form ? Do we need to take any other document proof to BWSSB office?
Thanks,
Pradeep
