Hi San,

Temperory connection is similar like commercial connection charge. Permenant will be lesser.
I think the temp. connection chargese will depend upon the load you have requested for (KVA). I hope there won't be difference between 3 phase & single phase on monthly bill its all depend on the load.

I had bitter experience to pay bill at BESCOM mahadevapura office after 2 to 3 days visit to get signature from JE. From this experience onwards I don't want to step into any BESCOM office for paying EB bill. I will pay extra 100 Rs to get it done by third person itself. Its depends area to area & whom you meet & your time.

I agree Pradeep. In fact to reduce such hassles I was determined to go for a 56 day renewal option but then balked looking at the upfront costs (deposit is doubled and apparently there is no option to refund the deposit at the end or even to adjust it against the deposit for a permanent connection which sounds absurd to me). And the electrician discouraged me from going for the 56 day renewal as well - perhaps more opportunity for making money :-(

I have a single phase temporary connection with 28 days renewal. The JE is always not around and I should visit mutiple times to get his signature. I stay in Chandapura area. Looks like all JE's are the same across BESCOM.

1. The form can be signed by anyover above the level of JE - meaning AE/ EE & So on. Sometimes, there are instances, where the boys will sign as "FOR JE" with a stamp too.

2. Collect the mobile number of the JE & chase him to his location...I did this twice. No harm in doing this.

Hi Pradeep, I did not but wanted to. Just checking: you suggest that because of the hefty deposit? Or is there something else to watch out for?

Hi San,
I just told because of hefty deposit for 56 days.

Hi giri,
For temp connection, You may need to have kind of watchman shed or small room constructed. Thats what my electrical contractor told me.
