Hi,
I am thinking of elevating the GF floor level by say 2-3 feet compared to the road level for my new construction. This is to avoid water entry problem in rainy season as my site is in a low lying area.
Request some inputs on the following:
1. Normally what elevation from road level is considered by Contractor while quoting for construction with full material contract?
2. What will be the additional cost for elevating the foundation by 2-3 feet 1000 sq. ft. house?
3. What are the precautions to be taken while raising the ground level?
Regards

the rise of GF level height is required at It should be minimum 1.5 feet and max 3 ft depend on the road condition and slope of the road
we made 2 different levels. one level parking which is 1.5 feet above finished road and 1 ft above from the parking( which means 2.5 ft from road center level) , we get 2 steps in front of our door , our engineer suggested not to go too much rise because parking may be difficult since road width is narrow,
we have not given any additional cost or floor rise , it may cost you more when it exceeds 3 feet.
precautions some expert can suggest more in the forum .
Re: Cost of Foundation
Prakash,
Generally I have seen about 2-2.5ft raised above ground level but it again depends on the site situation - how much slope, what is the level you are choosing to consider zero..
I think current rate of SSM foundation is close to 110-120 per cft. For foundation you might have to 1.5ft width. From the length & height you can calculate total volume of SSM foundation and multiply by the rate.
If you are going with per Chadra kind of contract these kind of things will not be accommodated. If you go for item rate contract it will be easier to calculate and pay according to work done.

Re: Cost of Foundation
Thanks a lot for clarifying my doubts.
For non-foundation area, simply filling with soil will do or we need to fill with mix of stone and soil. What will be the additional cost for this work?

Re: Cost of Foundation
Yes. For the floor it will be filling with soil. Watering and compacting done. On that 40mm PCC is laid for 4-5 inches

Usually it will be 1.5 to 2feet or 2 course of SSM.
2. What will be the additional cost for elevating the foundation by 2-3 feet 1000 sq. ft. house?
The cost usually depends on the refilling soil quantity and type of soil.
3. What are the precautions to be taken while raising the ground level?
If the boundry does not have support, go for retaining wall at the boundaries. But it is little costly.
