My't building is west face and the drainage/plumbing pipes needs to be enclosed and not to be seen outside the building.
as the pipes are planned to be on North-west side and staircase also will be on north-west side. Need to ensure that stair case
So, enclose I have been given three options.
a. One is Duct. - which will be very costly and i don't prefer as there is no ventilation.
b. Niche - A small opening in concrete slab similar to skylight, are there any ready made boxes available?
c. Direct drainage pipes through the slab. I don like this either.
So, can we have Niche of (1*2) in a concrete slab so, plumbing pipes can go through them.
Pls share your experiences.

Venky
Niche in Concrete Slab for plumbing pipes
Re: Niche in Concrete Slab for plumbing pipes
Venky,
Generally these things are done with core-cutting machine later during plumbing process.
We didn't leave any opening in the slab during construction. Check with your engineer and confirm if this is needed

Re: Niche in Concrete Slab for plumbing pipes
My contractor provided simple solution. He told me that it can be done by providing a non-concrete block/area which is similar to sump opening.
