Hi
I am residing in a twin row house model. There are two row houses each measuring 30x40 and they are quite old. These row houses were build using load bearing foundation and not pillars foundation.
I would like to demolish my portion of the row house which shares one common wall with the other row house. Post this demolition, I would like to construct my own independent house on the same plot.
Can you suggest me what are the precautions I should be taking before demolishing, what are the precautions I should be taking innterms of the foundation and ensuring that there is no problem to the other house.
Thanks
Demolishing a house
Re: Demolishing a house
is it a load bearing wall which has to be removed , if yes then do not touch that wall , Make sure there wont be much vibrations in wall or slab while demolishing (only till it is connected) , once detached from the other plot its easy but still consult some expert and den continue

Try to get the help of any structural engineer he would be able to give you best possible way to carry out the demolishion
Re: Demolishing a house
Darwin,
I have to demolish the whole house and it is load bearing. You are right, I should get the common wall disconnected then start the remaining demolition. Any suggestion on the foundation?
