Recharging directly to borewell casing pipe
I have seen in forum that by having a filter connected we can filter all the terrace water directly and fed the same to the borewell casing pipe. This is best as we don;t want to dig a pit around the borewell are normal practice. How will you control overflowing of borewell ?? . Did we connect a overflowing pipe as outlet on the other side of borewell casing where inlet is connected with outlet pipe at lower level to the inlet so that water will go out once borewell is full......
How will you connect the outlet and inlet to the casing as i need to explain this to my plumber who doesn;t know about this?
If i am putting pit around the well (second method) then there we connect a overflowing pipe which will take the water outside if pit is full but in the case of direct charging there is no control.

I would also want to do the same but don't have much info.
You might want to visit the Rain Water Harvesting park in Jayanagar 5th Block. I think they have demonstrated all these methods.

It is not recommended to recharge a live borewell with filters as it will lead to accumulation of silt and pre-mature failure of the borewell. Only dead borewells should be used to recharge using rainwater.

thanks, means we need to go with out old method of digging around 10 feet with charcoal/jelly with .

You cannot recharge a live bore wells as it will lead to early collapse.Never ever direct rain water to live wells .Keeping a recharge pit near borewel is best recommended way to recharge the rain water.
Incase you are using rain water filters you can use the water directly by storing in separate sumps.For recharging there is no need for filters since the recharge pit (stone,sand,coal) it self acts as natural filters .

How far the pit should be from the borewell ? I heard you can dig a pit around the borewell but heard today by doing that the bore will collpase as mud near the casing is loss and water when fills in will collpase.Is this true and we should dig around the borewell, but pit should be around 3 to 4 feet away from casing?

direct borewell recharging is not advisable for submersible borewells **because of motor will get damaged due to silt particles **. Hence it is recommended for a pit nearby wherein the water in deplete the ground underneath, will find some aquifer and recharge.
Now most part of bangalore water level depth > 600 feet reached, hence submersible motor is a option used to fetch water.
consider a borewell is digged for 800 feet, in submersible borewell's, motor will be at the end (or) some few feets ( 20 to 30) feet above the borewell i.e. placed @ 770 or 780 feet. Think of if water falling from top to 770 feet, it will hit somewhere in borwell hole where only few feets wil be casing, rest are mud (or) rocky. in rocky sand, if water hit heavily from top, will form silt ( ie. small dust particle ), which may accumulate over a period of time and damage the motor.
But yes, direct borewell recharging will also recharge the aquifer's. In villages/agricultural pumpsets, the motor will be not submersible, hence the technique of direct borewell recharging is good option.

How about connecting directly to the motor outlet pipe, so that it flows through the motor and to the borewell, so that the slit is avoided. Since the water is pumped up, the remaining water has to go down once the pump is stopped due to gravity. So if we can put a value and connect it to this pipe(after filtering with Rainy filter or something similar), then the water will recharge the borewell.
