Procedure for laying granite for floor? How?

Hi all,

I plan to lay granite for my home which is presently having tiles. What is the total procedure i need to adopt/ look after for laying granite on the floor and after laying what are the steps needed to take place or done by the contractor/layer. Any help on how to do is much appreciated/helpful.

I am also looking for tips on what needs to be checked and advised to granite layer . I am planning to start granite laying done in few days please share your experience.

What I have in mind is
1) minimum gap between slabs - how to achieve this ?
2) no 'hollow' sound after laying completes - what needs to be taken care off ?
3) granite 'waves' should flow in a specific direction.
4) no height difference between slabs
