Re: submersible motor + HDPE Pipe & cablelength
Friends,
Need help. Recently I had borewell drilled to around 650ft with 1.5inch yield. Please suggest the capacity of the motor, the HDPE pipe & cable length needed.
Appreciate your inputs.

Re: submersible motor + HDPE Pipe & cablelength
My site has a borewell of 450ft, the existing motor is at 200ft and with a stone tied to the thread, I can see water at around 150 feet in the motor connect pipe. At around 300ft we could detect water in the borewell. So there is a confusion now, how come the water at the motor pump pipe is at higher level.
This is an existing bore and I have no further details. Is there a borewell motor contact near KR puram, so that I can take the motor out and check further.

@m3_07,m3_07 wrote:I have bought VGUARD submersible. The advantage is that, it comes with a VGUARD starter/ control panel, which is best impedence matched !! For 550 feet, you have to have a 4SQ mm cable. The stage of the motor is calculated as (stage # x 22 Feet). If you plan to use the same motor to drive the water to the overhead tank, you also might consider the height of the building & add that to the borewell depth.
Can you post the total price & dealer info from where you got this?
Re: submersible motor + HDPE Pipe & cablelength
Got this quote for my borewell where the depth is 310ft and 280ft is where we want to drop the pump at
1. V-guard 2.0 hp 19 stage submersible pump set = 17,800/-
2.40mm 10kg ISI pressure Hdpe pipe (85mtrs*72/-) = 6,120/-
3. End Fitting = 800/-
4. Cable 2.5 sq mm (95mtrs *65/-) = 6,175/-
5. Panel board = 1,850/-
6.Accessories (Bore cap, clamp set, short bend, Nrv , Nipple) = 800/-
7.Installation = 700/-
8.Transporation = 600/-
vat 5.5% = 1,699/- Grand Total = 36,544/-
Any feedback is welcome.

You mention that you detected water at 300 feet in the borewell. How did you detect it?bbllaazzee wrote:My site has a borewell of 450ft, the existing motor is at 200ft and with a stone tied to the thread, I can see water at around 150 feet in the motor connect pipe. Normally while drilling, even though one hits water at a certain level, during actual usage, the water due to pressure inside the aquifer, rises higher and the water in the columns or G I Pipe is at a higher level than the level at which the water was found during drilling.

Re: submersible motor + HDPE Pipe & cablelength
@tvsh thanks for the information, we decided to remove the motor and clean the borewell, so that we know the actual depth. Got the clean vehicle an they clean the borewell, got all the debris out. The confirmed the depth is around 240 ft and water of 2inch, though not sure how they concluded the water to be 2".
I assume HDPE is flexible, since the borewell is inside the house and I would like to take the pipe from the motor to outside the house. Is HDPE easier to maintain in case of any issues with the motor, so that I can lift the motor out and fix it, without much damage, as the roof is at 10ft?

Re: submersible motor + HDPE Pipe & cablelength
so are you saying the borewell is 240 feet and not 450 feet as you had earlier thought? or is there silt between 240 feet and 450 feet?
How much did they charge for cleaning the borewell? what did they do and how much did they charge?
Given that you have the ceiling at 10 feet, GI pipes come in lengths of 20 feet and column pipes come in lenght of 10 feet, unless you plan to cut the pipes into smaller lengths and then use collars to join them, you only option is to use HDPE pipes for your borewell.

Yes, it is at 240 ft. The original information of 450ft is more a guess by the near-by plot owners and the layout security. The cleaning vehicle is a 10wheel truck, with a machine and flexible pipe (may be of 1000+ft length) connected to a metal nozzle. They inserted the pipe into the bore well and two/three people were pushing it as hard as possible. Before doing that they put an additional casing pipe, so that the existing casing does not get damaged. The machine provides a high pressure air which pumps out the water, it was like a volcano when the water came out with all the debris. They do this process 3/4 times and each time trying to insert more of the pipe till the volcano of water subsides. From the length of the pipe inserted, they told me the borewell depth is 240ft.
Now hunting for a reliable HDPE pipe vendor.

How much did they charge you for cleaning? What was the debris like? was it silt or was it small pebbles?bbllaazzee wrote: From the length of the pipe inserted, they told me the borewell depth is 240ft.

The reason I ask is I had a boulder stuck in one of my borewells preventing lowering of the motor, I had the regular drilling machine, blast it and since it was an old borewell of 6 inch, I had to pay lot of money.

Re: submersible motor + HDPE Pipe & cablelength
I paid 5k for cleaning. All slit and lot of rust came out(iron pieces), as the previous borewell motor was fitted with GI pipes. The borewell already had a working motor and water was coming from the pipes, but since we are building a new house, we wanted to clean it and also wanted to put a single phase motor against the existing 3phase motor. Yes the borewell is old and is 6 inch, not sure what is the new borewell drilling size is?
