Rain water harvesting

Post by Dreamhome »

Hi Experst,

I need your opinion in regards to "Rain Water Harvesting". How this done?

I came across a house near my home, where they have put 4-5 concrete ring and lets the water of terrace flow into it. Along with they they have used few few plumbing material to purify water.

Is this the way it's done? Please suggest me at the earliest.

Thanks and Regards,

What you describe here is one of the basic ways to do RWH.
Other methods involve cleaning the water and using it for regular consumption as well.

RWH can be implemented in many ways.

Those who have more vacant space can utilise it to the maximum extent by perculating the water to ground via Open Well or any other methods to recharge the underground water level for long term benefit.

For those with lesser dimension plots, filter it and collect in the sump or additional storage tanks and make provision to perculate the excess water to the ground.
Read the attached simple article which has appeared in today's TOI.
