Post by h1query »

Hi,

Is there any free software/trial version for 3D home modeling as in elevation & interiors?

Thanks for any pointers.

I have been using Architectural Home Design - and I love it. I have tried a few others, but this was great. within a day , I was able to use most of its features. I love it and I even purchased it after 2 days of trial.

Thanks for the info.

But can you point me to the URL/vendor name. Can't seem to get a free one based on this name.

Sorry, I could not find the trial version this time around. I did purchase it about 6-8 months back and at that time, I was able to down load a trial version. The site I went to was Chief architect, HOme design software.

http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/

good luck. there are some more - try out the HGTV site, they have a good one too (although I have not personally tried it). it is a little cheaper than the HDD.

Try Google freeware called "sketchup";

It is fantastic and very easy to use;

there are many tutorial online to use it;

But note, 3D modelling is very time consuming job;
May be worth to pay some fees to freelancers if you find any;

I did try sketchup. the samples they provide are great. but to be able to get to that level of expertise you have to go through a lot of practice. Besides, I feel the free version has limited capabilities and only when you purchase it - can you do all the fancy things.

but it is free and if you have the time and the patience, it is worth a try.

You may try Envisioneer Express, a freeware.

Try floorplanner.com its online but is pretty good for beginners. If you want something better then Google Sketchup is ideal but has a 2-3 day learning curve. In paid softwares especially for kitchen design Autokitchen is probably the best
