Hi Jay,

For me borewell depth - 900ft till ground level, Water yield is same as you.
I got quote from vaigai at Chikpet,

Texmo with 4HP 3 Phase (50Stage ) , Finolex 4 sq. wire, and other pipe, starters items cost around 82 K (including installation labour & transportation).
Nearby my area most of the people went for texmo. With their feedback, I'm planned to go for texmo.

since your depth is 550 ft ~ 600ft to tank & yield 1.5 inch, you can go for 3HP with 40 Stage or lower also.

I will go this weekend to know better quote and purchase. I can update you on this by next week.

Hi Mahesh,

Vaigai seems like distributor. 3HP 40 stage Texmo pump + They are providing mangal pipes 16kg, with some normal started only.

Jinnani is quoting 85k with L&T starter and extra wire lenght.
They are providing all good fitting & HPDE pipes PRIMESI 16Kg 40MM.
both providing finolex 4 sq mm. Pump rate is lesser in Jinnani. labour & transportation is little higher, other than that they
providing other things reasonable.

Also try to compare with few other dealer also. Be specific with brands get ur quote...
Let me know once you found any other. I will going next weekend for purchase.

This may sound obvious, but it is worth considering.
My neighbour drilled the borewell upto 450 ft depth. At the time of
drilling water gushed out and there was a spectacular fountain when
they finished. One week after drilling he contacted the pump dealer
who came and installed the pump and control panels etc., But when
they started the pump there was hardly any water. Next day the dealer's
people came, pulled out the pump, tested it in a nearby sump and then
lowered it again. But finally then found that there was hardly 10 feet
water in the borewell. But by that time, my neighbour had already paid
for the pump and the cables. Dealer refused to take back anything.

As I said this may be obvious, but you should insist that the pump
vendor first lower a thread and find out the actual water depth
BEFORE ORDERING anything.

Good find !!

1. You could do the verification yourselves....take a small pebble & drop it downwards..you should hear a small splash & the more time it takes to revert shows the deth of water collection.
2. Another method is suspend a weight with the help of a rope & lower it in the well, the depth could be measured very accurately.
3. There are some borewells which actually provide water to other wells - meaning, the water collected in your well actually suports your neighbours well. This was very evidently verified by filling the well with a tank of water & you will see that the neighbours well has collected all the water, unfortunate but true sometimes.
4. spectacular fountain reminds me of the horror stories in villages, where the bore riggers use their stored water to simulate the water flow in the well & cheat the gullible vilagers into believing that there have a good yield. Once they lower their pump, to their horror they realize that there is no water !!

Thanks for your points. We can insist pump vendor to send technician to get verify water level they charge around rs 400 - 500 but they use thread technic only.

Pls can you share contact of technician who use technical devices (camera) to verify water level and also we can make sure there is no collapse in bore.
