Hbr layout

Hi,
We are planning to construct at our site at hbr layout. Ours is a 60x40 site. The owner of the site which lies to the back of our site claims that his site is measuring only 57x40 . Therefore he wants us to give up space from our site. However, our dilemma is why should we give up any land when our site measures exactly 60x40 . The neighbour has no intention of building anything there now. While he was the original allottee of BDA site and bought the site for a very cheap price about 30 years ago, we are the third owners of our site and have paid a hefty amount.
The neighbour is threatening that he will litigate and is obstructing our construction. What is our recourse?

You can approach BDA to demarcate your property. Their Inspector will come and do the needful. You may then start your construction.

I think the issue is about meters & feet coversion. While, we all believe that BDA has allotted a 60x40 site, it is in fact 18x12m.

216sq mtrs translate to 2315sq ft (if I recollect right). There were enough posts earlier on this topic. Sellers wanted to be paid for 2400sft and buyers wanted to pay for 216sqm :D

Had you not got your plot surveyed officially before erecting the compound walls (assuming you have built already). Get it done now and finalize the boundary as per your khata. Any wrong step now, can be a life long frustration with law as well as your neighbor.

Please check with the concerned BDA Inspector. You need to check with BDA office about the person to be contacted. Chandramouli
