Dear friends,
For our borewell at around 145 feet depth I was told that we got 1" water. We further went deep upto 1008 ft. We did not get any water further. Now I am planning to go for a pump and I got a quotation as follows: I feel it is on higher side. Can you please give your views and give some sources who can supply at lesser rate but without compromising on quality. I was told that upto 800 feet approx if we install motor it is sufficient.
Kirloskar 3 HP 40 stage 3 phase motor Rs.26,000/-; Panel board: Rs.4900/- 16 KG pressure HDPE pipe 1 1/4" (240 metres) Rs.148 per metre; Cable 270 metres @Rs.95/-; End fittings Rs,1100/-; Borewell cap, clamp, nipple, NRB joint etc. Rs.1600/- Trasnsportation to site (JC Road to Munnekolalu): Rs.1200/- (around 20 KMs) Fixing, testisng etc. Rs.3500/-. In case of Texmo motor in place of Kirloskar Rs.3000/- extra.
Please provide your valuable views and suggest sources.

Dear Sastry,
I think the quotation price is on higher side, myself & my friend have researched enough in JC Road & finally settled down to Wilson Garden Vendor. The problem with JC Road quotations are they vary shop to shop and each shop will have certain items on higher rate and vice-verse, this can be further negotiated once you decide to buy. Here is my expenditure to total pump & fitting cost.
Total Cost - 63500 + 500 TIPS
Bore Well Depth : 670 ft with 1.5 to 2'' water
Pump Depth : 630 ft.
Overall Service Experience: Professional & technical, satisfied.
My suggestion is to stick to Texmo (there are 2 sub brands : Texmo & TARO from same Texmo family, stick to Texmo only, my supplier also insisted me to go to Sharp with replacement guarantee, I did not take chance, Texmo has 2 yrs warranty & other brands on single year]
QUOTATION
1. Texmo 3.0hp 30stage submersible pump set 1PHASE = 22,800/-
2 years warranty
2. Panel board = 2,450/- [Fully Automatic, stops on dry run, voltage fluctuation]
3. 40mm 12.5kg ISI pressure Hdpe pipe (192 mtrs* 89/-) = 17,088/-
(Warrany for 1 year, If any company gives more than 1 year please
insist for Manufacturer’s guarantee card)
4. End Fitting = 850/-
5. Cable 4.0 sq mm (202 mtrs * 88/-) = 17,776/- [ I chose L&T]
VAT 5.5% 60,964/- = 3,353/-
6. Accessories (Bore cap, clamp set, short bend, Nrv, Nipple) = 900/-
7. Installation = 1,200/-
8.Transportation = 800/- [From WIlson Garden to Hosa Road]
Sub Total = 67,217/- [ I negotiated to 63500 as we bought 3 pumps connections]
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1) Inclusive of vat 5.5%
2) Payment 100% cash at the time of delivery. [ I paid >50% payment next day as owner wanted bank transfer]
3) Installation will be done
4) Materials subject to availability.
5) Goods once sold cannot be taken back.
If you need number, i can share or refer you.
Please note: I do not have any business interest here, please do not refer my name whenever you share this quotation.

Dear V Kalavar,
Since I was busy I could not give immediately a detailed reply and I only acknowledged. Before i got your reply, got the pump installed and details are as follows:
3HP 40 stage Taro 4" Texmo pump Rs.24645
1 1/4 HDPE 16 KGcm Mangalam pipe @ Rs.123/- 240 metres Rs.29520/-
End fittings B/S/S Rs.900/-
V Guard cable 2.5 mm sq @ Rs.62/- 270 metres Rs.16740/-
3HP starter Ocheg dry run Rs.3791/-
Total Rs.75596/-
Vat Rs.4158/-
Deliver & fitting charges Rs.2746
Total Rounded Rs.82500/-
I choose to take V guard cable instead of Finolex because I was told tht more than 90% finolex cables duplicates are dumped into the market and it is difficult to identify. I was informed that Vguard is better than a duplicate finolex.
Dear Sri Kalavar - Your views please.

Dear MV SShastry,
Could you please share the number of the dealer you bought the motor from. Also, my site is on Hosa rd in KPC Layout.
Dear members, i wanted some help on deciding the motor hp since the terms are very confusing.
Water we got is at 1250ft after which we dug upto 1320ft, they told it is 1inch water. We got the water level checked after 1week using camera and they told us the water level is at 570ft and the water head is 1200ft.What does this mean and what hp motor would be required for well of this depth. Will 1inch water be sufficient for domestic purpose?
Awaiting your help,
Regards,
Priya balaji.

Regarding other points what I feel, the water source is at 1200 ft which means in the bore, you got a point at 1200 ft, from where water is coming and getting filled in your bore and water level means, at the time of checking the water you got at 1200 ft point started getting filled in the bore from 1320 ft depth and its present level is at 570ft. You might have used a 6 1/2 inch dia pipe. That means the quantity of water available in your bore is ' Pi r square h"
= 22/7 x0.27 x 0.27 x 750ft. cft. ie., around 170 cft water. In my opinion it will be sufficient. Generally it is said one inch water is sufficient. one cft water is 28 litres. As per calculation you have got 4760 litres roughly. ( calculation 0.27 is the radius of the pipe used by you in feet,( if it is 6.5 inch dia = 3.25/12 = 0.27 in ft.) In my opinion upto 800 feet only 3 HP motor can be used. Above that you need 4 HP 50 stage 3 phase motre. You need to go in for 5 HP motor beyond certain depth. You have to decide upto what depth you want to instal the pump. For example if you wish to instal pump at 1200 ft, (since your bore is 1320 ft) at any time you can draw water stored upto 1200 feet depth only. Between 1200 ft and 1320 feet will always be lying in the bore. You need to check upto what depth 4 HP motor will do. You have to take a view based on two factors, one is - likely electricity bill vs the cost of water if you buy from outside source.
Based on the costs given by me you may negotiate with the nearby dealer if you are very far from Kundalahalli. Other wise you can contact Sree Reddy Pumps.
