Ground floor roof slab.

Post by sahu.mgse »

Dear All;

Apart from material, structural, electrical......... what all the care to be taken before roof slab molding (planned on coming Monday) to avoid rework in future. This is a first roof slab in my proposed house. Early reply will be appreciated.

On a related note, is it right that the side shuttering can be removed after 48 hours ? I read similar note here: http://www.ruralhousingnetwork.in/techn ... nstruction

Contractor says side shuttering can be removed after 2 days but the main roof centering will be left for 15 days. Is that right ?

hi all
side shuttering can be removed after 24 hours. but slab shuttering removal depends on the length of of slab if the slab length is more than 4.5 mtr with out any beam, slab shuttering should be removed after 14 days if less than 14 mtr shuttering can be removed after 7 days by providing jack support on slab.

cantilever slab should be supported for atleast 21 days.

on a sort of related note, do you guys see any issues with the centering alignment? In other words, do the roof slab/beam & lintel align exactly with the brick on the top & bottom. I see few deviations in my places in a few places. So trying to see whether this is something that regularly happens as part of the standard construction deviation. Please share your experience...
