Re: Construction material prices
these is very common and other thing is they dont mix according to standard ratio for example they just pull the sand and put the cement bag n mix its just an estimation thats all they find easy way and its big head ache with gangmans they never listen to u or even mestri sometimes...for footing for four colums they did in proper ratio and then onwards no count of cement sand jelly jsut estimation ... n blasted both mestri and mixing guy to put in proper ratio n then also after sometime they did the same thing n they dont do proper curing which is the most important thing some times we have to do that job ..even in 1 instance had told the earth evacuation guy to help me to put the stones other side n he is tellling that its not his job n he was asking money for doing that simple job also n i had to do that ...and i warned mestri that if u dont meet my critera then i will not give the money which u committed for .he is lil old n exp n next day he was doing better n he dont have A grade quality workers just a decent work they can do and im just wondering how my house elevation deign will come n wat kind of finish they do n now planing to keep it simple ......atleast i feel good coz i didnt give to material contract if i would then i dont know wat kind of material he would put for constructing my house atleast hav lil satisfaction that i have given labour contract n providing very good materials ....demand for labours r more now a days thats y they havethat attitude that they can get job anywhere and the money is same but the quality of labour changes

Hi Friends
Could you please advice on Acc suraksha and Coromandel 43 Grade OPC cements, are they both have same strength when used for constructing walls, which do you feel is superior and have more strength? Please advice . Also if you are aware of cost of Coromandel 43 Grade please do let me know , currently iam paying 330 for Acc suraksha per bag. and 340 for ACC concrete are these prices fine?

Re: Construction material prices
Though I am not an expert, after some research, I found that it is benificial to buy PPC cement rather than going for OPC because it has additional advantages. I even heard that OPC cement will be banned by the govt sometime in future. Unless you are in a hurry to finish your consturction It is advisable to go for PPC cement. Experts can surely provide your feedback here.
Btw, ACC PPC and ACC Concrete Plus cement is available for Rs.325 per bag for 50 bags. (No difference between their rates in Chandapura Area).

@sk1976
i have been to few shops and also saw mills in timber layout
decided to go for red saal for window n door frames n burma teak for main door and pooja. its difficult to get good red sal or white sal wood. in shops n timber layout almost all have similar quality wood n they try to confuse the custumer that in red sal diff quality wood wiill come for rs 750 laso n 950 and also weight n weight less wood so manythings they will try to convince u that they have the best quality wood and best price ..timber layout prices will be same in all the shops and wood quality wil be similar rs950 to 1050 for red sal and rs 3000 for burma teak n no further discount and my carpenter suggested me to buy from log(dimmy) wher u get the same wood quality or if u buy from cut pieces then quality of wood will be diff from 1 another and cracks will be very common in sal wood.
after checking in timber layout and 3 shops near my house then i shortlist to 1 he gave the best price among them he gave rs900 for red sal n 2950 for teak if my requirement is more then he will give lil discount. i wanted wood with out cracks that was my main criteria n while selecting found cracks n lil damage in sides n not so redish in colour and some were good so i chosoed most of wood without cracks n some wre ther but wood quality was good n some in sides. my carpenter suggested that while playing n desingin side cracks can be removed n lil air cracks can be considered so done with red sal wood
and teak wood again didnt had much option to chose ..stock was less lil dark round shape in middle n sides however wanted plain n clean looking wood n i already gave order for main door frame size 6*3 even that is also same thing n carpenter suggested that he will put that in back side and while playing side damages and cracks can be altered n removed. some times things dont happen the way we want
if u want the same quality wood then go for saw mill timber layout u will get log(dimmy) n even in that they will give cut pieces from log and same quality wil be there n also u get cut pieces wat u see in shops prices will be almost same in timber layout n u get better quality wood.
this is my exp will pm u the details:)
