Hi, I have done the same which you see in the picture...but I have not used any channels as it is really not required. My doors work just fine.
The height if the doors are 7 feet and the total width is 8 feet so each door is 7 feet height and 2 feet width. 2 doors collapses, 2 to the right and 2 to the left. You an do the same. As in the picture you just need the hinges.
Did you mean 9 feet height and 12 feet width?

Dear Biddappa,
I was planning to get some partitions done this way. this looks like a wonderful idea.
Can you please post a couple of pictures? Are there any hinges on the top corner. I am a little confused
and my carpenter has never done it either.
thanks

Hi Nagzz, how are you?
Nazz, notice the pic in this discussion :
1. there are 5 doors attached to each other. All five of them.
2. They have hinges on the left side vascals and hinges between the doors.
3. There are no hinges on top.
4. Ideally, when you have more than 3 doors attached consequetely, they do have runners below so that the weight can be balanced.
In my house the below design was adopted:
1. 2 doors were attached on the right side
2. 2 doors on the left.
3. Attaching a drawing, we executed the same way except NO CHANNNELS. I really want to avoid any kind of channels.

thank you very much for asking sir. great to see detailed sketches here. i have a 14 feet stretch of area to cover. basically, i am trying to make a movable partition. I think with runners, this is possible.
but still, how is it performing for you? no cranking etc from the hinges right? must say, very innovative of you to go for such a design.
