HI

I made sure we're using branded Plywood (Kitply in my case). Question is how important is the laminate brand.
I'm getting the thickness I wanted (1mm out, 0.8 mm in) but carpenter wants to use a non-Merino/Greenlam
for one bedroom where I wanted glossy laminate. He's using the usual talk "there are 100's of brands sir..they're
all same; the popular one are costly due to more marketing". Just wanted others' take on whether I can go down
the path of unknown laminate (he's suggesting a brand called "Heritage" btw)

Hi ,
Laminate is nothing but printed paper stuck on paper board .In general the quality of laminate depends on the INK quality , pixel depth ,melamine coat ,thickness .
In some local brands colors are brighter but they fade very quickly in no time .Brands like green , century , merino are known for its consistent quality , fine designs and rich textures .

There are many other well know brands like royal touch, Asis , silicon etc in which few designs are much better than premium brands. You need to select on careful inspection of texture , color, melamine coat quality.
