Dear Ladies and Gentlemen.

Just realized that there are only two wood varieties, viz., Ply wood and teak wood. In malnad region where I was raised, there were different varieties of wood. However in Bangalore it is only two. Now coming to understand that teak has many variants:
Looking to understand teak variants. Please clarify:
1. Assam teak
2. Ghana teak
3. Hunsur teak
4. Acacia teak:)

Regards,
Nag

There are plenty of choices for hard and softwoods with wide ranging textures and colors. Most of the famous malnad local woods are also available in bangalore.
Please check out the thread on Sudan Teak for Door frames in the Construction section . African teaks and other wood choices are discussed there.

Thanks Nivas, Great info.

I am looking for a dining set, sofas and 1 double cot and 2 single cots. Thinking to get it done manually not going for show room items.

Any suggestion around Kanakapura road?

Nagendra
