Need advide Rubber Wood Polishing

Hello All,

This is my first post on this community and need help from you folks.

I have got carpentry done for my new entertainment unit and trying to get wood polished. Entertainment unit is completely done with 0.75in Rubber Wood.

Checked with couple of them for wood Polishing,

- First person quoted 12k
- Second person was more systematic. He first measured the complete unit and based on the same given following quote
a. Rs. 80/sqft for French Polish & 1 coat of spray polish (PU Based)
b. Rs. 110/sqft for complete spray polish (3 coats of sealer & Top Coat each). PU Based

He has given me an option to pick ICA, MRF,....brand.

Is the above rates reasonable/inline with market. Which brand of PU to be used?

use ica. each litre of sealer will give a coverage of 80 sqft easily for 2 coats. same with polish. sealer will cos around 450 - 480/ltr and polish around 550/ltr. u need stainer which depends on dark stain or light stain, will not exceed 250/ltr. spray m/c u get for 125/day rent and on top of this the cost of labour who will work on this. With this info you decide which is cheaper. Also you need few dozen of 120/180/220 grit paper.

My entertainment unit is 86sqft. So based on the above details shared by you, i would require:

2lts of Sealer : Rs 1000.00
2lts of Polish : Rs. 1100.00
2lts of Stainer : Rs. 500.00
Spray m/c for 2 days : Rs. 250.00
grip Paper : Rs. 250.00

material cost would be ~Rs. 3000.00

Finally after negotiation, the guy has agreed for Rs. 8500.00.

Does this sound fine....
