I am considering to install home security solution in independant house (under construction).

Eureka Forbes person came by and gave a quotation...but I heard from electrical contractor that they are not providing good after sale service.
from the brochures, the product looks dated.

For video door phone, 2 IR dome camera, one DVR (recording), instrusion alarm system, 6 door sensors, 1 motion sensor, 1 gas leak sensor, 1 glass break sensor...
all wired systems costing 85,000/-
wireless is costlier.
installation is 10% of cost and AMC (annual maint.) is 10% of the initial cost every year.

any one using Eureka Forbes setup, please give feedback.

Any other good vendors in the market, please provide contact details.

I have bought these items individually (wireless ones) and integrated myself, and everything costed me around 20k. Most of the stuff, I had bought from US, as they sounded cheaper to me.

Hello tech4pk,
Can you please suggest some items/brands that you procured from US? I plan to have this installed for my house too.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry friends for my delayed response as I got stuck with my home construction and work.
I had got the 4 Channel video surveillance complete set for around 8k INR from USA (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZMODO-4-Outdoor-Home-Video-Surveillance-Security-Camera-System-500GB-Hard-Drive-/180977339786) and also, a baby monitor with 7" screen (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorola-7-Baby-Monitor-Digital-Picture-Frame-with-Wireless-Camera-Live-Video-/251154915575?forcev4exp=true&forceRpt=true),which would be used as a door phone for around 4k INR, and small safety things like the burglar alarm, gas leakage detectors, motion sensors for around 3k inr. Also, added some bits and pieces to the whole house for the security and safety. I will try to put the list of all these items as soon as I get sometime.

There is Godrej, zicom, eureka security sol as well. Not sure how good they are.
Video camera are of no use during night. Also after couple of years they get into a unmaintained state unless you are really getting things serviced, software upgrade. I think the motion sensors and alarms are better than CCTV for home protection. I was thinking of buying from US but then the power watt difference is a problem. Still searching for a right product.
