Home Security Alarm - Bosch Vs Honeywell?

Post by kempas »

Hi,
I have already gone through a detailed thread on Home security system in this website. Going through the multiple vendors listed there I couldn't find any vendor better than Eureka Forbes (atlease their sales team is good and responsive). I have tried registering (in other vendors' websites)/calling other vendors but not much positive response from any of them. Infact, only Zicom called me back but even there i felt the quotes were much higher than what Eureka forbes offered me. One other advantage i see is Eureka forbes have a sales and service office very close to my home, so i can directly walk-in and talk to them in case the service in future is not good!!

Now what I am really looking for from this forum is to decide on whether 8 channel Bosch system is enough or 16 Channel Honeywell system is required for my house. My house is Stilt + G + 1. Only G+1 are connected from inside like a duplex house. Stilt is fully for car parking and utility only. I feel security alarm needs to be fitted only for the duplex house. So, could anyone who has experience with Alarm systems please advice whether Bosch is better or Honeywell? 8 channel or 16 channel?

Regards.

Are you inquiring about 8 channel and 16 channel DVRs for recording CCTV footage? A good security system should have a combination of Intruder alarm system and a CCTV system. When it comes to brands, you might be better off with brands which make their own stuff like Honeywell, Bosch, and there are others. Zicom, Eureka Forbes are just resellers who buy stuff from unbranded OEM guys in China, put their own sticker and sell them. Obviously they have a strong and well coordinated sales force to sell into the market, but you you might be surprised as to how much they markup their Chinese OEM imports by.
