Re: Home interior work advice
Dear Praveen
How the panelling measurement is taken , for Ex: for a opening of 8'x4' ( panelling is done for 9" width and 1" thickness with Plywood and Veneer)
Carpenter is taking 8'x4" =32 sqft
according to me 8+8+4+4=24 sqft.
Can you pls clarify, as capenter is taking entire area of opening
Regards

Re: Home interior work advice
Hi krishna
Your calculation is correct ,it is taken in running feet multiplied with agreed per sft panel rate.
8+8+4+4 = 24rft x per sft price

Re: Home interior work advice
Hi all,
I just got quote for kitchen and wardrobe labour charges. Material to be supplied by me.
kitchen
Rs 450 per sqft for below granite slab
350 for above granite slab - chimney level
275 for above loft
wardrobes 300 per sq ft.
Can you please let me know if these charges are ok?
He mentioned measurement is width x height.
Is there any hidden charges/things I need to be aware of?
Regards,
Raju

@raju2013
The rates seems to be very high as far as I know.
Recently my relative and myself did some interiors work with labour contact.
Following are charges
1. Kitchen - 250 rs/sqft
2 wardrobe - 250 rs/saft
3. loft : 200 rs/sqft
4 .Panelling - 150 /ft
Since materials are supplied by you, not much scope for surprises.
But ensure that , whoever you choose, does a decent job. If possible ask him to show previous work.
Make sure you make frequent visit (at least weekends) when work is going on.

Re: Home interior work advice
@Raju,
Prices quoted are very high,
I recently got my wood work done at J P Nagar 8th phase and following were the rates.
Kitchen 240/-
Wardrobe 200/-
Lofts 160/-
Prices were fixed around 8 months back, he may quote 5-10% extra or do it for the same rate.
He did pretty good job.

Re: Home interior work advice
Anyone to help me on the above question? Thanks in-advance
Re: Home interior work advice
Thanks all for reply.
I see that kitchen labour rates are rs 250 per sq ft.
does this include basket/tandem box fixing and 2 side lamination labour also?
Carpenter is claiming including those charges, its Rs 450 per sq ft.
Regards,
Raju
