HI all,
Does the main door need to be solid hard teak wood only, can it have just the sides ( chatta) solid and the middle part can be made of plywood/tubular core which gives better finishes and trim as there is no solid wood which can shrink and expand over period of time.

Hi Chand
Teak wood is the material that's strong and aesthetically accepted in past and present .Now you have various options /materials /finishes to choose .So its up to you .
Steel doors with wood look alike , Ready made Shesham wood doors , sal & honne painted doors .
Tubular core and plywood are really strong enough for individual homes unless you plan steel safety door on top of it.
