payment for 1162 sq ft or for 1200 sq ft ?

I have finalized a site in SMV layout of dimension 9mts X12mts. which will come to 1162 sq fts. Since, we have finalized the price for sq ft, for how many sq ft I shud pay now
1162 or 1200 ft.
Please comment.

you should be paying for only 1162 sq ft only..

This is the big debate from long time and many people have their own opinion. Sellers are demanding for 1200 sq.ft and many buyers are insisting for 1162 sq.ft. All BDA/KHB sites are made in meters dimension.

More realistic approach is, Practically measure the shortlisted plot with a metal tape (If required get the help of a right person, measure between the two border stone Centers) and pay as per the measurement you get.

Thanks for response..I am fairly young 26 and softspoken... I dont know how RE agent and seller will respond for this..

Look for the quote from the seller. If he quotes in Rs per sft. Go with 1162. If he quotes the price of the site in Rs x lacs, assume he expects payment for 1200 sft. The site will be in meters so the actual measurement of the BDA site will be 1162 sft.
