Urgent: Email digests from mybdasites.com marked as 'Spam'
Posted: October 5th, 2011, 8:52 am
Dear members,
We have received couple of warnings from major email servers like yahoo that our users are marking the email digests as spam mails.
This is in direct violation of anti spamming policies of our service providers and also against our websites principles.
There are couple of members who have dropped a mail to admin@mybdasites.com asking us about the option to change the daily mode
to weekly or none. We have thoroughly followed up with them and helped them to change their digest modes. Also, every mail
has a footer note explaining that the digest mail options can be changed in User Control Panel. But looks like some of our members
have chosen to mark the mails as spam so that they wont receive the mails into their in-boxes. This is not good for the web site
and also the anti spam actions will restrict other operations of our web site.
In view of the above developments, we have decided to give the option of choosing the email digest mode in the registration form
for new user registrations. So, going forward, any new user trying to register will be able to choose the Digest mail mode in the
registration form itself. He/She can always change the options in UCP (User Control Panel). Also, the default digest mail mode is set to 'Weekly'.
This option of choosing email digest mode in the registration form may take some time as we are still fixing minor bugs in the code.
Once this feature is activated, we'll announce it in the forum.
For the existing users, we are planning to un-subscribe the email digest for users who have opted for 'Daily' mode and send a separate mail informing the same.
We'll provide the options to change the digest options in the mail and also will provide all the support they need in doing so. We'll take up this un-subscribing existing email digest, tomorrow. Individual mails will be received from admin mail account. Please reply to that mail for any assistance you may need.
Hope you understand our limitations and restrictions. Thank you all for your support and encouragement so far for www.mybdasites.com
Best Regards,
-Admin Team
