Home Automation

Post by msg5555 »

Dear Friends,
When is an ideal time to start planning for home automation?
Currently building a G+3 Home and want to get inputs about that should be kept in mind.
Also would love to know the costing for basic automation like lights, camera door bell, automatic parking door etc etc.
Thanks

Once the Structure is ready and when you start Electrical, Plumbing, flooring works, you can initiate your home Automation activities in parallel.

Basic home automation is quite easy to set-up. Buy and install wifi enabled sockets and switches (there are several brands available in the market including Honeywell and Schneider) - I would recommend donot buy the cheapest ones as their electrical contacts inside are not built for many make/breaks and burn out fast. These switches and plugs would help you to connect the appliances. pumps and lights to be switched on and off through an app (or time scheduled) through your smartphone or even through a hub. Donot go for an expensive standalone hub- use Amazon Alexa hub (they have a speaker cum smarthome hub) or a Google Home hub.

You can also install VDP (video door phone) that can be connected to smartphone and have CCTVs that are viewable through phone. Enviz, Hikvision, Godrej, Panasonic, CP plus are the leading brands). Dm me if you have questions.
