Vertical garden

Hello All,
I was looking some information on the vertical garden. These days lot of people are installing vertical garden pots on the walls.
i would like to know few points
1) from the looks point of view its amazing but what are the disadvantages. will it impact walls in long term ?
2) is it difficult to maintain them
3) how much will it cost overall including automation drip system
4) Do the plants dry off and should we keep replacing them ?
