Hello,

looking to get some idea of budgeting funds for home construction. I know there is all these numbers of 1500 / sq ft. etc. floating around, that is hard to use for budgeting purposes.

If we have a structural construction cost of say rs. 20 lakhs. (the house has say 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, dining, living and family rooms)

what would the cost of
a. sanitary / plumbing (include cost of toilets, sinks, faucets, pipes, drains etc.)
b. electrical ( include cost of lights, fans, outlets, wiring, conduits, meter, etc.)
c. furnishing (6' puja room, kitchen cabinets -10 feet on each side galley kitchen, bathroom vanities - 5' each - 4 bathrooms, )

be as a percentage of the structural cost, assuming say economy, medium and luxury range selection of items.

I would much appreciate this information if anyone can provide.

I think the thumb rule is 15% of the structural cost for sanitary and electrical . Furnishing u can add ur estimate to this.

Hi ,
Electrical, plumbing cost will be 8 to 10% each of structural cost . One should consider appropriate range of plumbing and electrical depending up on the structural cost.Cannot expect 50/- tiles range with premium range jaqar fittings.
In electrical costing your fittings will be extra like fans,gysers,lights.8% is only for conduits,wires,switches,MCB etc....
