Need Help on Construction

Hi All,

This Portal has been one of the best on construction with lot of helpful forums and plenty of information sharing.
I am looking for more help while I am planning to construct my first home on how to start, engage Architect?, Contractors , Labour etc.,

My Plot is a plantation Plot with size 5500 sq ft NE facing located near Gunjur circle/BMTC Depo.
I am planning to construct a duplex within 30*50 considering my budget and retain space for plantation, courtyards and greenery around.
I have been planning from long time (on/Off) but this time ...I am going ahead and request help from this forum members for guidance, contacts and suggestions through this journey.

May I ask for any suggestions on how to start this project pls.

Hi Abhi,

What exactly you are looking for ? I would suggest hire a good architect as eventually you end up saving the amount as they will give absolute BOQ and reduce the cost with effective design.
Always go BOQ way so that you better control over costing.

Search on Google and Facebook for architects. Some contractors have their own architects.

Tier 1, great designs but expensive. They also handover work to their assistants. Very egoistic and once the construction starts, the expenses will be difficult to control.

Tier 2, good designs, but definitely you need to be more hands on. They are reasonable and willing to work with clients. Depends on luck

I have gone through many posts in this forum regarding construction and was hoping that members would recommend/share the references of reliable civil contractors and architects. I have also gone through your recent construction and appreciate if you can share the number of the civil contractor you engaged for your project and also request other members to Share few contacts. I am also working on available options around me...but haven't found one yet.

Better You can plan for a Eco-Friendly CSEB Construction method, rather than going for the regular construction, which gives you better options for energy & Water Conservation which will be helpful for your sustainable plantation and also gives a beautiful Traditional look & Feel. Couple of trustworthy Architects available in Bangalore who can execute this work for you.

Hi Armchair, Thanks a lot for sharing the details through PM. It really helps.
Appreciate members to share for more contractor contacts pls. In the current situation, it is very hard to find a trustworthy and genuine contractors/architects which we have observed in many construction experience. This portal can be a good platform to identify and share those few genuine contacts to help each other.
