It is a 2 year old borewell pump and from last 2 days there is lot of silt (fine sand) continuously coming from the bore water and because of this the water is muddy. Water from Bore goes to Sump and from Sump, it goes to the overhead tank on 4th floor. We are getting muddy water in the taps. Please help how I can solve this problem at the borewell outlet itself.
Thanks in Advance

Hi,
There are various reasons for silt happening in old borewells.
1. Neighbours bore done recently could leaked the pressure and made some new holes in your borewell
2. Motor mesh filter at the bottom would have gone bad will lead silt to be pumped up
3. Some where borewel side walls would have collapsed due to water pressure in the ground.
To clear the silt at borewel you have following options
1. Check for the motor filter condition and for this you need to pull the whole motor or use camera
2. Pump water from borewel to sump and let the water rest for minmum one hour before you pump them up to tank this way the mud will settle down
3. Put alum stone in the sump for expediting mud settlement process
4. The filter for sump motor at suction ball can also be added .
