Hi,
My contractor has quoted following rate for exposed brick wall assuming brick at 15Rs.
4.5 inch 200 Rs per sq feet
9 inch 400 Rs per Cubic feet
As per brick calculator online 4.5 inch wall needs 5.0625 bricks so brick cost well be 75.93 and labour + cement / mortar 125/-
Does the rate of labour + cement mortar look fine ?
Anyone got exposed red brick walls recently can you please comment ? Also please provide me contact of any person who can do this work.
Q2: I was thinking about getting wall in a way that inernal facing side ( which will get plastered ) is 4 inch block and external facing side
with facing bricks ? Is this a good approach or are there any disadvantages , At planning stage I discussed this with my architect and he was
against this saying alignment may be a problem.
Regards

Re: Per Sq ft rate of exposed brick wall
Hi,
For exposed brick work you need to consider other than brick cost, cement mortar. It need expertize to build a exposed brick work . Time taken to construct regular vs exposed is twice .
The exposed brick work includes
1. Class -1 wire cut brick / Stablized mud block
2. Cement mortar applied in uniform thickness for all vertical and horzontal joints
3. Joints to be recessed
4. Pointing to be done in all the joints once the wall is built
5. Cleaning the extra cement immediately as they construct
6. Both side leveling is important .
Incase you are planning to plaster from inside is not problem , it will make it easy to run the electrical and service lines .
