When we do termite treatment...

Post by ngupta »

I wish to check, when we do termite treatment.

Is it done at foundation (ie 5' feet deep below ground level) or ground plinth level.

When we do this? When we are just starting, or when we are almost done at ground level and about to lay floor on plinth level.

Any recommendation on any brand or any other typical care like ratio extra to be taken care of.

Hello

Is it necessary to do termite treatment even for apartments?

In my case it is 1st floor flat.

So for my particular flat; I guess it might have to be done before the flooring work....

What do you say?

Thanks,
Manoj

Hi Manoj
You can do it before flooring , just get the chemical mixed and apply it with spare evenly in all the rooms ,make sure you do this just one day before ,other wise you loose the chemical power. Doing so to some extent you are safe from termite. This is a precaution measure to protect your interior wood work in future.

H Praveen / others,

How can we control ants in kitchen?
I had applied the termite chemical during construction and still see lot of ants if any food items are kept open in kitchen.

Thanks

Hi nalin
The termite treatment is done 3 or 2 stages, stage 1 is not mandatory, it’s just for additional precaution.
Stage -1 - when you do the footings excavations, apply one coat and concrete the footings
Stage -2 - Before the Ground flooring concrete in side the plinth area
Stager-3 - Before apron/ flagging concrete done.

*** The concreting should be done immediately once the chemical is applied, you shouldn't let the chemical exposed to sun and rain, in case there is a delay put plastic/ tarpaulin sheets on it.
