We have used solid cement blocks for construction, I want to avoid this for the top floor. Because I came to know they store and conduct lot of heat in summer.

What is the alternative ?

1.Red bricks ?
2.Light weight bricks blocks ?
3.Hollow blocks?
Any other type which keeps the top floor walls cool.

Also , are there any special tiles or coatings which can keep the top roof concrete mould cool ?

hollow blocks and aerated concrete blocks have better insulation.
white coatings are available for roof slab, they reflect heat better. check out the terrace water proofing thread for more details.
