I am living in a upcoming BDA approved society. The sanitary lines were laid long back by the society which were not used until recently where people started construction. The sanitary lines and man-holes though exists, are filled with mud and there is no end connectivity due to fight over a piece of land. Hence the sanitary lines are overflowing.

We are trying to interact with Society, BBMP, BWSSB, Corporator but solution may take time.

In the meantime, we house owners want to try out solutions like
a. community pit
b. pit in every-house
c. divert the sewage to open sites
etc..

I would be happy to hear any other solutions to control / solve sewage problem by owners until the civic authorities resolve it later, please share if you have any idea

pit latrines and diverting sewage to open sites is a dangerous thing. u will soon contaminate the underground water resource, once the fecal parasites find its way to pristine aquifer and colonize, it is impossible to eradicate it.
also if you line\waterproof the community pits , you have a bigger task of emptying 5000 lts sewage \ day min for 10 house holds.
one needs to install small septic tanks in individual homes and pump out sewage to a working manhole via a alternate temp pipeline . or if the working manhole is too far , you need to aggregate to big septic tank, installed in open site, and from there to working manhole with help of bigger pump.
sewage pumps and septic tanks of various capacities are available easily.
