Needed a clarification from the forum members on SSM foundations.
There are many houses built on SSM foundations upto G+2 floors without any columns and beams.I Wanted to know what would be
the ideal breadth and depth for digging a foundation pit if we are planning for a SSM foundation for good SBC.I would also
like to know how many layers of SSM would be needed until plinth level.
In addition to that why is there a need to lay SSM masonary below GL cant we just do as below,
1)6 inch concrete at bottom of foundation
2)soling stones and robo sand mixed with cement and compact it until GL
3)Build only 2 layers of SSM
4)1.5 inch DPC
5)Start the brick wall
Also would anybody know if there would be reduced labor charges/chadra for using this mode of construction if we are going for labour contract as it doesnt invlolve lot of concrete work?
