Roof Leaking on Top Floor

Hi,

I am residing in the top floor for quite some time. Yesterday, due to heavy rains in here, have noticed water leakage from the ceiling at the joint of the vertical wall and the column. Now that came as a surprise to me.

The wall at the beam junction with the vertical wall gets wet and water literally rallies down along the vertical wall. In case of heavy rain, we can see water droplets forming on the ceiling and dripping in their own sweet time. My house is a top floor one and no one above it.

Another point which I have noticed is that at the zone where the electrical pipes were laid, we can see the dampness of water. Now seeing that I am more concerned about the electric short circuits that might happen.

Apologies, Haven't taken any snaps of the same.

Now the question that is persisting in my mind is how to identify the cause of the leak at the roof ? And make sure that the leaks are stopped and do not reoccur in future.

Any guidance in this aspect will be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Usually electricians leave one pipe over the mould, to take the wiring to the next floor. Check that Pipe is properly closed over the moulding. If you know the spot where the pipe end is, apply some cement-sand mixture over the open end.
Thanks,
