Sridhar,

After reading through your plumber's quote, I am thoroughly lost.
In general Plumber should charge about 10k per bathroom if you have floor mounted commodes. If concealed tank and wall hung ones are to be done, ththe charges can go upto 15k.
Please check quote from another plumber before proceeding

Thanks Girish. Even I am lost completely. When you say 15k per bathroom, is it the labour cost of installing all pipes etc from sump to top, RWH, solar etc or only the labour pertaining to the bathroom. The quote given above is the cost of all pipes and labour etc excluding the final fittings for WC, taps, wash basin, fixtures etc.

Somehow I felt it was on a higher side. How did you get your house plumbing done? Did you get all the pipes, brackets and material etc? I am not sure how this is done and what will work out better?

Regards,
-Sridhar

I have gone with labour contract and just finalized on the fixtures which by the way cost a bomb.
Yet to buy pipes and the laundry list of materials

My plumber is charging 15k each for 5 bathrooms and 10k each for two where we have floor mounted WC. Road cutting not included. Solar and kitchen will be charged depending on work involved

Above quote is toooo very costly.
My plumber is charging a 18K per floor (labor only) irrespective of no of bathroo or kitchen or any connection (like washbasin, washing machin point etc). This works out for me.

Friends,

I spoke to a couple of plumbers for labour contract and got a quote of 12K per bathroom and 5K for kitchen.

Now, I also hear from some acquaintances that plumbing is THE most important aspect in house construction and since I plan on installing concealed tanks etc to the bathrooms it is of utmost importance to catch hold of a reputed plumber to do this. How do I judge a Plumber's work? What do I need to check in order to make sure that he is an expert at his job and that I wont have any plumbing issues later?

You advise is most appreciated.

Regards,
