Karnataka Govt Science council in iisc has provided good information on the method to get the rain water harvesting.
Many folks in the market give inappropriate information to sell their product, based on the way the marketing folk told things it is so misguiding and not be trusted.

some important points to i noted from the website.
- The water should not be let into borewell directly from rwh filter
- If the ground contains rock, no need of rwh, but how to convinence govt officials?
- If water is collected it is better to keep in a different sump and then charge the borewell.
Hope this helps
