Plumbing charges

Hi All,

I was told by the build that plumbing charges would be 8.5k per bathroom + 15% of the material cost as fitting charges.
I wanted to know if this is a common practice in the developer community because it does not sound logical. One guy can have a WC of 5K whereas other may purchase a 10k one. Thought the fitting procedure is same, the difference would 750/-. Please suggest.

It ofcourse isnt logical. Plumbing is generally charged per bathroom (7k to 10k) and also includes fitting of WC+accessories. Some plumbers charge 2-3k for kitchen. but general costing is per bathroom only.

harishnb,

This exactly why house construction is a crazy experience just like one of those roller coaster rides! Those who haven't gone through it are probably missing out on this experience.

On a serious note, plumber will charge based on the fixtures you buy because there is different level of work involved for different fixtures. If you go for concealed tank, the charges would be almost 50% more than a regular tank. But pricing should not change based on brand if you have agreed upon the type of fixture upfront.
