Dear Members;

Urgently need to know the method adopted for waterproofing of toilet before tiles laying. What is duration to be observed for leakage/seepage. Presently contractor has cleaned the RCC slab from dust/stone and planning to do mortar filling over complete area to cover pipes. We have 5 toilets with one is sunken. He was suggesting he will use polymer coating as waterproofing .

regards
Sahu

@sahu,

My project has not yet reached that stage. I have done external waterproofing of basement walls using Fosroc Brushbond RFX. This was applied in 2 coats after plastering

For toilets, just Brushbond should be good enough. I believe it should be applied in 2 coats and then cinder/mortar filling can be done. Need confirmation from other boarders who have already completed this phase
