Borewell Camera Test

Hi All,

We dug our borewell about 1 month ago through Kannan. The site is located off BG Road in Saraswathi Puram (on the way to DLF). We hit the water at 690 ft and further went upto 790 ft. They said the yield is 1.5 inches. We have put a submersible pump. While dropping the pump, it stopped at 720 ft itself. The guy who came for installation of pump said that there might be boulders and it must have filled the borewell from 790 to 720. So we have temporarily placed at 670 ft. We have not yet cut the extra pipe and fitted it.

Since there is a water source at 690 ft claimed by Kannan, is it OK if we place the pump above that (i.e 670) or we should go at least until 690? We are planning to do a camera test. Any suggestions on the vendor who does it? And what are the inferences that we can make through camera test?

Regards,
Praveen

hi praveen,
From a camera test you can find out at what level the water is standing from the bottom, you can check the number of sources available in your borewell.Sometimes the camera people will tell you the pressure of water from the source based on the level at which water is standing and after how many days from their experience. You can also see what the cause of obstruction is i think...
Sorry i do not have the contact details in bangalore since i got it done from my relative who does it in my hometown.Generally they charge around 3000rs and they will give u a cd with the footage.
