Labor Cost for vitrified tiles replacement

hi,

some of the vitrified tiles in my apartments have stains (chemical/acid). I contacted the builder and was able to get the tile model number and these are currently available in stores. I was referred to a person who lays tiles in apartments. He has quoted Rs 35/Sft labor charge (no material) to remove the stained tiles and replace with a new one. I am looking to replace about 30 tiles. I also have a constraint of the person working on Saturdays and Sundays only.

I have the following question:
1. Will there be any problem if I replace 1-2 tiles selectively and replace them.
2. Is the labor cost reasonable.

Pls let me know.

Thanks,
Vikas

Hi,

1) There should not be any problem to replace the tiles, It depends on the Labour who is laying.(In our apartment we also did the replacement due to breakage of Vitrified tiles which was done properly)

2) The Labour cost is on Higher side (Usually they charge 15 - 22 per Sq feet considering the Full house laying ), Since your's is piece work they usually charge more price, But negotiate to Rs 25-30 Max.

Constraint of the Person working only on Saturday & Sunday - It is good for you as you don't need to take leave on week days for this purpose and he can complete with in that days.

Check with other guys (Enquire with the Tiles shop they will suggest some of the Labours)
