Hi,
Good morning,
In old posts I saw people are recommending using cover blocks instead of stones etc.
Where can I buy cover blocks ? Any specific shop recommendation in Bangalore north(yelahanka/hebbal) will be helpful.
How do I calculate numbers of cover blocks required for footing ? I got excavation plan from engineer. There are 10 columns planned - 9x15 (6), 9x18(2) and 9x24(2)
Thank you,
Pkumar

Hi ,
You can use the pvc cover blocks or when ever cement mortar left out at site ,ask the mason to pore it on new paper on floor about 20mm thick and cut it in to pieces.
This is the traditional way of doing cover blocks.Cure the blocks in water drums for 2 or 3 days.

Thanks Praveen. I am going with your suggestion to maintain homogeneity. I talked to my maestri and he is fine with preparing them on-site.
I found this reference as well

Useful tip. Thanks again.

We purchased PVC cover blocks from chikpet. We also got ready to use ones from Ultratech/birla cement dealers.
