hello everyone,

My query is regarding the internal wall plastering. Please do not mind if my question sounds insensible since i am completely new to this. The mason says we can do internal wall plastering in 2 ways
 1> lime rendered plastering 
2> cement plastering and then directly putty .
As per my structural engg the 2nd option is good quality wise but costly compared to option 1 coz of more putty. 

My question is :
1. Is this fact right?
2. If so then how much more will op 2 cost compared to op1.
3. In lime rendered plastering we need to supply only the 43 grade ppc cement or any extra lime content material.Kindly clear my doubts on this.

Hi,
The second option is better for strong bonding between plastering and putty.when you apply putty on lime bonding will not be good unless the lime quality is good .
In second option putty consumption will be more because the mason will level all the undulations in the lime which is cheaper compared to wall putty .
In case of wall putty using directly make sure that the plastering is in perfect level with out any undulations .

In the second option, when is putty applied? After the wall is cured is it ?

Can we use less expensive putty first coat and then Asian for second coat ? Because Asian is pretty expensive.

Hello,

You can apply putty while while doing the painting.There is no specific time here.In fact this method is best when compared to lime rendering plastering because of the fact that we will not have much curing in case of lime rendering plastering.

And I would suggest you to use branded putty because it will save you the cost in other aspects.
