Hi

My house has nearing completing stage but very dis satisfied with the cost overruns. I want to consult someone who will review the entire project and check whether the quality and costs are inline. It would be great if someone could guide me on this.

I am disappointed dealing with people working in construction industry. :( :( :( :( :(

please mention your area of construction or living location,
so that members can suggest you the possible solution.
simply throwing a very vague query may not get response.

Hi
Cost overrun happens in most cases because of various factors.
1. Price rise (inflation min 5%)last 2 years the prices of raw materials went by 15%
2. Selection of materials ,initially we plan for 50/-item but select 60/- item
3. Lack of knowledge and cost analysis at various level during construction
70% owners are not happy at the end of the project about cost over run because they are not guided or educated by consultants in a proper way at every material selection. Many time we feel just going for 10/- more ,cost wont shoot but all the items together makes a big difference
Once you realize that cost over run , should be careful about further selections in materials. You to do cost analysis at every level and see if you wasted money or upgraded.
Upgrading is not wasting of money .
Don't downgrade suddenly at the end ,this shows up in the final finishes.
