Pergola glass roof for car parking

Hello all, my architect is suggesting me to put pergola glass roof outside the front porch to get enough lighting in side the house through the windows. I am concerned about dirt accumulation over the top of the glass. Can anyone shed light on this topic. Appreciate it

Depends on the place and requirement. If one wants light to pass through and handle a bit of weight then toughened glass is good as a pergola cover. Else you can cover it with polycarbonate sheets of different colors or even get a iron sheet welded.
But yes, dirt on the glass roof looks ugly and one would need to jet wash the glass on a regular basis.

Talking of pergola, can someone comment on the pro/con between concrete and metal pergolas ?
