Hi, i have a doubt regarding concrete molding. I am constructing 3 floor house at hosaroad. Already ground floor molding was done. Now they are doing centering work for 1st floor.. here my worry is, so much of liquid cement leaked in ground floor molding. I asked the reason near centering guy.. he said that it is common in all moldings.. No need to worry and some one suggested me to use cello tape to close the gaps. yesterday i tried that.. But because of oil coating to centering plates that tape is not sticking.. So please tell me the alternates to stop this leakage in next molding..

Use moulding mat and plastic covers. Search the forum, same topic is already covered earlier.

First of all, gaps have to be minimized while laying the shutters. This is better done a day in advance, otherwise on the day of cement pouring, things will be moving fast without time for any correction.

A simple strategy is to place news paper where there are gaps. Place small stones on the paper so that it does not fly away. To make sure all gaps are covered, one person need to be below the shutter (on mobile) and inform another person on top by inserting a thin cardboard/plastic piece where gaps are present.

If they are saying that it is so common , that show their level of workman ship . Those kind of leakage is not acceptable . It has to be strictly minimized . There should not be any compromise in that . You have to give strict instructions regarding the Leakage . Just tell them to cover the Gaps properly either with mud or Centering Tapes & Metal sheets . All the gaps has to be properly covered . Then only concrete has to be allowed .
