Hi ,
At plinhth beam level, we found 1 to 1.5 inch offset in column position. my mason says this kind of offset is quite common, and he wants to correct it by benfing colimn rods above plinth. I seek experts opinoin about this. Quick response highly appriciated.

Hi basha
These errors are common in construction but its suggested not to bend the column steel more than .25" .Since the columns are vertical load carriers you cannot bend column ,imagine if the columns gets shifted by .5" in each floor with in 4 floors it gets shifted by 2" total.
For stuctures like G+2 or G+3 column shift with in limit is manageable.But for a high rise even a shift of .1" is a major issue.

Thanks Mr.Praveen.Yes, I did not allow them to bend the coloumns at pedastal level, The net effect is room size is slightly changed as compared drawing value.
